Womans Wound - Money Wounds (Financial Fears)
Jan 09, 2025Description:
Money wounds involve deep-rooted fears or limiting beliefs about finances, often resulting in scarcity thinking, undercharging, or avoiding money management altogether.
- Experiences anxiety around budgeting or checking bank accounts.
- Undercharges for services or struggles to feel worthy of financial success.
- Avoids discussions about money or investing in business growth.
- Often has a scarcity mindset, feeling there’s “never enough.”
- Sabotages financial growth or success, possibly overspending or avoiding responsibilities.
Mode of Survival :
- Fight: You fight to control your finances, obsessively saving or overworking to prevent any financial uncertainty. You might feel an intense urge to argue about money matters or become defensive when discussing finances.
- Flight: You avoid dealing with financial problems, avoiding bills, debts, or decisions related to money. You might neglect financial planning to escape the anxiety.
- Freeze: You feel paralyzed when faced with financial decisions, unable to act, avoid thinking about money, or make decisions that could improve your financial situation.
- Fawn: You might fawn by excessively seeking approval or reassurance from others regarding your financial choices or becoming overly concerned with what others think about your spending or saving habits.
Origins:
- Childhood: Exposure to financial instability or mixed messages about money and worth.
- Ancestral: Inherited beliefs about money being “scarce” or “bad,” particularly in families who struggled financially.
- Societal: Society often projects money as a source of conflict or corruption, complicating personal financial views.
Clearing Methods:
- Mental: Identify limiting money beliefs and replace them with affirmations like “Money is a tool for good” or “I am worthy of financial abundance.”
- Physical: Regularly handle your finances in a sacred way, e.g., set up a dedicated, serene space for budgeting or affirming abundance.
- Spiritual: Perform a money ritual, like burning herbs or lighting a candle to release scarcity. Visualize money flowing in freely and see it as an energetic exchange, not a source of stress.
Journaling Exercise:
Write a letter to “Money.” Explain any fears, judgments, or negative associations you have, and allow yourself to express resentment or frustration. Then, shift to gratitude and describe your ideal relationship with money.
Reflection Questions:
- What did I learn about money growing up? How do these beliefs still affect me?
- What emotions come up when I think about having abundance?
- How would I handle money if I trusted there was always enough?
Whenever you feel stuck or notice recurring struggles, revisit the questionnaire to identify which wounds might be holding you back. For lasting results, commit to practicing the clearing techniques consistently for 30 days; this will help you create a strong foundation and build a habit that supports ongoing growth and transformation
